Halt code for Enter administrator password or power on password

Hi everyone

I forgot the admin lock password on my old HP want to gift it to my son for his studies please assist it gives me a code when I enter the one I remember using and says system disabled

 just spoke to a agent from Bangalore and shes telling me that the contact centre no longer assist with this and I have to replace my main board which is going to cost me WTH is that all about

and to think i got a new HP Probook as an upgrade  i want to use the old one for my son because his stuck at home not being able to go to school can anyone please assist me without me having to replace the mainboard which is a complete new laptops price which is ridiculous what type of customer services is that, what if someone forget the password like i did.
