Hi @Riyajeeva

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how worrying it feels to restart your Pavilion 15‑cs3006tx after an update and be met with a black screen showing a 3F0 “Hard disk not installed” error.

You’ve already taken the right step by noting the exact error message, so let’s go through clear troubleshooting actions to isolate whether this is a connection, BIOS, or drive issue.

Step 1: Power Reset

  • Turn off the laptop completely.
  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove any external devices.
  • Hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
  • Reconnect the adapter and try powering on again.

Step 2: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Turn on the laptop and immediately press F2 repeatedly.
  • This opens HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  • Select System Tests > Extensive Test to check the hard drive.
  • If the drive is not detected here, it confirms a hardware or connection issue.
Guide: HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

Step 3: Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart and press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Under System Configuration, confirm that the hard drive is listed.
  • If not, reseating the drive may be necessary.
  • Also check that UEFI Boot Mode is enabled.

Step 4: Reseat the Hard Drive

  • If comfortable, power off and remove the bottom cover.
  • Locate the hard drive, disconnect it, and reconnect firmly.
  • Ensure the connector is free of dust or debris.
  • Restart and test again.

Step 5: Attempt Boot from Recovery Media

  • If the drive is detected but Windows won’t load, create a Windows 11 installation USB on another PC.
  • Boot from USB and select Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Startup Repair.
Guide: HP PCs – Installing Windows 11

You’ve already shown persistence by identifying the error after the update. With these steps—power reset, diagnostics, BIOS check, and reseating—you’ll know whether the hard disk is simply not being recognized or if replacement is required.
