Mini 110

Hi, I have an hp mini 110, it has been in drawer for a few years and I cannot remember the password. I now need it to help my dyslexic son with school work. Any idea what I can do? I think it is running Windows 7

Hi,

It depends on the type of password you're referring to.

If it's a power on password, at the password screen, hit enter 3 times and you should receive a 'halt code' - post back with this code.

If it's a Windows log-on password, the notebook will have shipped with a Recovery Partition which can be accessed at boot - ie shutdown the notebook, then start tapping away at f11 as soon as you power on.

A full guide on this can be found on the following link.

Thanks for the quick reply David, I thinks it's the Microsoft password I have the issue with. I remember doing the free upgrade to Windows 7 I think? I suppose I would loose that if I reinstall from the bios? Cheers  Davie

Hi,

There is a general policy on the Forum not to provide methods to bypass Windows log-on passwords, however the article on the following link should be of help :generic:
