Product: HP 14s-cf0114TU
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop model is HP 14s-cf0114TU. I would like to change the device SATA mode to AHCI but I am not able to do that because there is no such option in the BIOS setup. Please help me with this problem since it is very important and urgent .

Hi:

 

You can't change the drive controller settings in any HP consumer notebook PC and that setting hasn't been available in over 10 years now.

 

Your PC's drive controller should automatically be set to AHCI.

 

You can confirm the drive controller setting by going to the device manager.

 

There should be an IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers device manager category.

 

Click to expand that category, and you should see a drive controller listed there as a SATA AHCI controller.

 

If you see such a device, then your notebook's drive controller is set to AHCI.

Hi Paul,

 

Thanks for the help, I couldn't get the confirmation from the device manager that it is in ACHI mode but found it in one of the UEFI configurations in the system BIOS setup.
