Hello!! I would like to know how to disable the keyboard on my laptop.

Recently, I spilled water on it and it sometimes types on its own which makes it really annoying.

I would like to have the ability to only use an external keyboard instead of my laptop's keyboard

Hello
Have it repaired by a professional
If there is water inside, the problem may get worse.
above all, do not use it anymore, unplug it, remove the battery if possible, and go see a computer repairer
Simply deactivating it, if possible, will only reduce the problem, the circuits may continue to damage if it is not too late.

@Aqiel

Turn the laptop OFF -- and do NOT turn it back ON!!

Spilling liquid on a laptop is the second-most damaging thing you can do to it (first is dropping it on a hard floor).

Here are some tips on dealing with liquid damage: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/you-just-spilled-water-or-coffee-on-your-laptop-heres-what-you-should-d...

However ... it's most likely that SOME damage was done, regardless of how quickly you turned off the laptop and what you did afterward. The key problems are only the surface and almost certainly, more damage was done than that.

The ONLY way to know for sure is to take or send it to an HP Service Center and pay a LOT of money for them to run full diagnostics on it, and after that, to disassemble it to repair or replace any damaged components.

And, if the motherboard is damaged, the cost of repair can easily exceed the cost of replacing the laptop -- because (as far as I know) liquid spill damage is NOT covered under the warranty.

Since you live outside the U.S., here is a link to HP Service Centers, by Country/Region: https://support.hp.com/in-en/service-center

If that link does not give you the information you need, here is the general support link:

In the device manager, find the device with the built-in keyboard, right-click, update the driver, and always select the second item in it, add an incompatible driver to the keyboard, the keyboard will not work normally, and the purpose of disabling is also achieved. If you want to re-enable it, after uninstalling, restart the computer to restore it!

As we said @arya122378  , it's not a good idea to just turn off the keyboard
If we do not give the solution, it is because in this case, it is much more risky than anything else
the user will deactivate their keyboard and again if possible, and then ..
If there has been any liquid in the computer, it may continue to deteriorate.
and the fact of having deactivated the keyboard to continue using it, one risks simply having a computer which crashes definitively.
