Alienware 17r3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP EX950 2tb ssd that failed.  I seem to be unable to get warranty support for the unit as HP won't recognise the serial number.

You have to ask Dell. Alienware is NOT a product from HP even its storage device is  from HP. I don't know why Dell uses HP storage products, Dell owns a big storage company.

No I bought the SSD separately from the laptop.  In Fact I own 4 HP SSD's that I bought through Amazon where it is stated they have a 5 year warranty.   The SSD worked for a year and has now packed up.  This is HP's responsibility.  For goodness sakes I have worked in IT for over 30 years and can't believe HP's Customer facing website is so poor.

We understand SSD is purchased separately if the HDD upgraded customers build warranty will be an applicable warranty with the notebook.
