Hi.
I just bought an zbook 15uG2
I need to access the BIOS setup for turned on hardware assisted virtualization
but it is password protected and I don't have the password.
I am windows phone App developer
The Windows Phone Emulator Couldn't start because the hypervisor isn't running .
The likely cause is that hardware-assisted virtualization isn't turned on.
So I know I need the SMC.bin but I don't know how to get it from the support.

For that model you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.
Just to note:
Do not try removing the RTC/BIOS battery. It will not remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as SMC files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the SMC will cause it to fail.
