In the last month or so I am getting the following message when starting up my Omen laptop: "Recovery options: Insert HP Sparekey USB Recovery Key". I'm not sure what this is asking for but the only way to get rid of it is holding the power button for a few seconds to turn off the laptop & then restart it again. It always starts up fine after that.
Thought nothing off it, but I've had this error show up a few times in the last couple of weeks. Every time it starts up fine after I hold the power button and then start the laptop up again. Not a huge problem however it's a bit annoying. What can I do to stop this error from showing up at startup? Any tips are welcome. Cheers

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting errors on the notebook, I am glad to assist you.
Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.
Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here
- HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also, ensure Windows is up to date.
- Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Sandytechy20 for your suggestions. I have gone through the steps you listed - all HP and Windows drivers and updates were already in place. Earlier today I had the HP Sparekey error appear again. After shutting down the laptop by holding the power button and then restarting the laptop booted up fine. What is the next step for getting this solved? Please advise.
