I recently switched on my older hp device:hp probook 450 g2, and I tried getting into bios setup but it prompted for a bios adminustrator password. I dont remember putting any password on it and so I trued different methods to remove the bios password to no avail. I even disassembled my laptop to remove the cmos battery and tried booting to bios, still it prompted for a password. And no,it does not give me a code after trying to inout a password 3 times. It just says system locked and to press the power button for a restart.

Hi,
Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or Elitebooks have more stringent security than consumer models - they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial No. and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case.
If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.
