@Caz471, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It seems like your HP Envy laptop is experiencing power-related issues. The alternating orange and white charging lights may indicate a problem with the battery or the power supply. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check the Power Adapter and Cable: Ensure that the power adapter and cable are working correctly. Try using them with another compatible device, if possible.

Inspect the Battery: Verify that the battery is securely connected. If it is removable, try removing the battery and reinserting it.

Reset the Laptop:

  • Disconnect the power adapter.
  • Remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter.
  • Attempt to power on the laptop.

Alternate Power Source: Test with a different power outlet or power strip to ensure the issue isn't related to the power source.

Monitor and External Devices: Ensure that all external devices (USB devices, external monitors, etc.) are disconnected from the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
