Hi danjen, thanks again. At least iny case I am almost sure it doesn't have to do with video at all. My case seems more similar to this one: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Lockups-Freezes-Hangs/DV4-not-booting-blank-screen-with-leds-b...

Don't know if you are an hp employee and don't take it personally if you are, but looking at this, I will never buy anything from hp again. I was the only person I know who had a notebook from hp whose battery survived for more than two years, and then the computer as whole dies. I took to repair shop but I already accept the fact that the motherboard is gone and I will have to bin it and buy a new one, which won't be hp, for sure.

I Would still consider having a computer shop that knows how to reflow chips take a look at it. It is the most common problem I see.  I am not an HP employee but I am sure I will be getting an offer in the mail soon!

I will go to the shop where I left the notebook and tell them about reflowing the chips. I will see what happened to my computer and then I will post it here, as far as I ve googled this problem seems very common and this could be useful to lots of people

Hello. I understand you are having issues with black screens and blinking LED lights on your computer. I would follow the troubleshooting on this document:http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01443366

When you complete the troubleshooting, please respond by telling me what steps you performed and the results. I will continue to assist if necessary. I'm only here to help!

I had similar issue.  Computer suddenly does not work and with blinking lights.  I was lucky to get it back by holding down the 4 arrow keys and press power on.  It came up with blinking lights so I thought no hope, I let it there blinking for about 30 mins and suddenly I saw 2 messages on the screen (don't remember but something about cmos, it maybe because I removed the cmos battery and plugged it back in.) but I picked use default.  System is up since.
