Don't know if you are an hp employee and don't take it personally if you are, but looking at this, I will never buy anything from hp again. I was the only person I know who had a notebook from hp whose battery survived for more than two years, and then the computer as whole dies. I took to repair shop but I already accept the fact that the motherboard is gone and I will have to bin it and buy a new one, which won't be hp, for sure.

I Would still consider having a computer shop that knows how to reflow chips take a look at it. It is the most common problem I see. I am not an HP employee but I am sure I will be getting an offer in the mail soon!

I have a hp pavilion dv7-1133cl. When I start it, the hear fan noise for about 5 sec. then it goes off. The top icons on the key board, (quick play, volume, wireliess) stay on and leds at the caps lockk and num lock, blink.
The screen does not light up.
I hear a noise at the disk drive area, repeat itself.
Any suggestions??

I had similar issue. Computer suddenly does not work and with blinking lights. I was lucky to get it back by holding down the 4 arrow keys and press power on. It came up with blinking lights so I thought no hope, I let it there blinking for about 30 mins and suddenly I saw 2 messages on the screen (don't remember but something about cmos, it maybe because I removed the cmos battery and plugged it back in.) but I picked use default. System is up since.
