@Tony2381, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Pavilion Not Booting Up with Power Present!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Pavilion is not booting up despite the presence of power, here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the issue:

Quick Check

Verify System Light Activity:

  • Check for any indication of power, such as lights on the keyboard or the power button.

Remove External Devices:

  • Disconnect all external devices, including docking stations. Recently added hardware or applications may cause conflicts and result in a loss of video.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • A hard reset erases all information in the computer's memory and may restore functionality. To do this:
    • Turn off the computer.
    • Disconnect the power cord.
    • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the computer.

Test with External Monitor:

  • Connect an external monitor via VGA, DisplayPort, HDMI, or another port.
  • Press the power button and close the computer lid to force video output to the external monitor. If successful, verify that the HP logo is presented correctly on the display screen when pressing F10.

Verify Display

When booting to Windows, check if there is any image on the display screen (try pressing the Windows logo key + P to switch displays).

If there is video on the external display, update BIOS, software, and drivers. Perform a soft reset if needed.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
