HP G62-b95 ev Notebook
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I can not create a USB stick with sp55430.exe to restore the BIOS in my HP G62-b95 ev Notebook.I have tryed to run this exe in many different PCs and I get always the error messages : IHISI !  : Get support mode fail in SMI !  and  BIOS did not support InsydeFlash ! I don't have anymore the original HDD because I have replaced it with an SSD.The problem began when I wanted to make a clean install of windows 7 and I downloaded all the drivers from HP.One of the drivers was for UEFI BIOS which I think caused the problem. I have seen that other people get the same error messages.I have tryed to run the sp55430.exe in a Notebook which supports InsydeFlash BIOS but I didn't come to the stage to ask me if I want to create the USB stick , instead asked me if I wanted to flash the BIOS.Any help will be very appreciated.

Hi @jannisgertrud,

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums After reading your post I see that you require assistance regarding rolling back your bios. It will be a delight to assist you here.:)

Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. 🙂 Kudos to you on that score. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you try to consult a local technician in this regard?

For a start please try to download the bios to a new USB flash drive from this link: http://hp.care/2tZ5nWx

where you could click on bios

  • HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors)
  • Previous versions and download the version that best suits the computer.
  • Then roll back the bios from this link: http://hp.care/2rZhONT
  • I feel that if you swap it out with a normal HDD instead of an SSD it should work correctly. The SSD may be supported by this bios as it is an older bios version. The computer has been retired now for a long time and the SSD may not be supported by any Bios version of this computer.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead. 🙂

The problem is in the use of the sp55430.exe to create the usb stick to restore the bios. They are always two error messages about IHISI and InsydeFlash  and I don't even come to the point to create the usb stick. In what operating system  shall I run this exe and if the PCmust support exactly the same bios like the G62-b95ev ?

Thank you very much for you qwick response but my problem remains the same .The sp55430.exe is the correct software to create the usb stick but they come the two error messages I've mentioned in my previous post and I can't figure out what causes this problem.

Hi @jannisgertrud,

I read the super quick response. I had to leave for the day and could not reply immediately. You've displayed great resilience and immaculate attitude to try and get the issue fixed. Kudos to you for that. Please try these steps

  • Format the SSD on a different computer and create the file system.
  • Try to download an earlier version of the bios other than sp55430.exe or a later version if available from the steps and links are given in one of my previous posts.
  • Please use a different computer and a different flash drive to do download the bios.
  • Then try to update the bios on this computer using the USB flash drive.
  • The  sp55430.exe may not be installing or downloading correctly.
  • If the issue still persists, then use a normal hard drive instead of an SSD.
  • Finally, please check with a local technician to try and resolve the issue.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

Do take care, stay healthy, keep smiling big and do have a blessed year ahead.
