I can't change the boot order on my HP Pavilion 15 notebook PC. Secure boot has been disabled and Legacy Support enabled. However, when trying to change from OS boot manager to Boot from EFI file, pressing enter to select the latter operation brings up another screen that says there is no volume label. Pressing enter brings up another screen giving 3 options EFI, boot and System volume information. Selecting EFI brings another screen. Selecting Boot from the 5 lines and then selecting bootx64.efi from the next merely gets the boot process going which, again ignores the USB flash drive and boots from the OS Boot Manager.I need to reinstall the operating system as Windows 10 updates appear to have damaged some files and Windows updates to the operating system no longer install. All help is much appreciated.

Hi Banhien, I had already downloaded the latest windows 10 operating system to a flash drive but was unable to get the BIOS to boot from it. After various attempts to change boot order including disabling Secure Boot and enabling Legacy Support, I changed the flash drive from a USB 3 port to a USB 2 port. This finally did the trick. It then allowed me to do a complete reinstallation. I now have everything working fine without constant attempts at automatic updates that always failed to install. Many thanks for your help. Very much appreciated.

Since your machine previously runs Windows 10, you can do a clean install W10 for free by using the media creation tool at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
The tool will allow you to make a bootable installation media (USB/DVD) and you can use installation media to install.
During the installation process if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box and W10 will install and then automatically activate once you are connected to the internet using the key embedded in BIOS of your machine.
Important note: Please tick Keep all user files and programs otherwise it will reformat HDD of machine.
Regards.
