Hi There

I'm unable to start my laptop and I’m getting five short white lights on the caps lock and num lock.
the fan starts then it shuts down and tries again. But I get the same thing. Can’t get the laptop to start.

any ideas?

Please try a hard reset and see if it works.

  • Power off your notebook
  • Remove the a/c adapter, battery and everything that is attached to your notebook.
  • Hold the 'POWER' button down on your notebook for about 10 seconds.
  • Plug in the a/c power supply (without battery) and power on.

Regards.

Thanks for your suggestion Banhien, unfortunately it hasn’t helped.

on this particular laptop I can’t easily remove the battery as it is behind the back cover.

I still get the five white lights on caps and num lock buttons.

I did once get three long beeps/lights followed by two shorts beeps/lights but that has stopped now, back to five white lights.
