Probook G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've bought a Probook 450 G7 two months ago. Great laptop.
Yesterday I tried to update BIOS through HP Support Assistant and I realized I have a BIOS administrator password.
I don't know it.

Is there a way I can update my BIOS? Can I change the BIOS administrator password?

I tried entering the wrong password 3 times, but I don't get any feedback, only to turn the laptop off or to restart it.

Thank you in advance!

We're not permitted to provide Disable Code bypasses anymore.

I'm really sorry that we can not help you with this, but Community policy prohibits us from assisting you in any way with bypassing or resetting passwords.

For BIOS or power-on password resets, read this HP thread: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06368824.

If you are not prepared to spend the money to get HP to replace the motherboard for BIOS password resets, you could take the PC to a local repair facility to see if they can do it for you -- but we are unable to assist in that.

For Admin password resets, you have to contact your regional HP Customer Support location directly for assistance.

thank you @WAWood.

I'm sorry to hear that. Updating BIOS is not the most urgent thing in the world, but I don't like the idea of not being able to access BIOS on MY computer.

Local HP customer support in Bosnia and Herzegovina is pretty much non-existent so they won't be of much help.

I tried resetting CMOS battery but seems that HP had improved security on this generation of Probook 450s... which is a bummer.

Anyway thanks for your help.
