I have a black screen with a hard disk error (3f1).

So I got the black screen and the error. I've looked and read through a bunch of stuff and it says I have to run a hard drive check. When I try to run the hard drive check it doesn't say that it failed or passed it just says

  Short DST : not available 

So I dont know what to do going forward, can it be fixed or do I just get a new hard drive.

If it's shown Short DST not available Hard drive is failed.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer. 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
