Okay, Paul, I knew this one was going to be a horribly challenging. With what you sent me the pc was able to access one driver, the Intel RST Controller 9A0B (TGL) - then it stops and gives me this message: No new devices drivers were round. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK.
So I am still not making much progress. This is one more step closer than I have been, though. What do I do next? I downloaded everything you sent. Are there more? Would it be easier to email each other? My email is: [Personal Information Removed] - I sure appreciate you friend.

Hi:
If you have not done so already, try unchecking the compatible driver box and try the couple of options you have.
If that doesn't work, try the Intel storage drivers I zipped up and attached below which I extracted from the IRST driver on your notebook's support page.
The one I originally gave you was directly from Intel's site for the 11th - 13th gen core processors.
If that doesn't work, then you will have to get your hands on a Windows PC and use HP's cloud recovery software to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with the notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility:
HP Business PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Client in Windows 11 and Windows 10 | HP® Support
You can download the recovery client software from your notebook's support page at the link below.
HP ProBook 440 G8 Notebook PC Software and Driver Details
Pay particular attention for how to install the drivers after Windows is installed.

Sorry that none of that worked.
Would you happen to have a wired USB mouse you can use?
Other that what I have provided above, unfortunately, I don't have any other ideas for you to try.
Those are the correct drivers to use for Windows to find the drive.

Morning, Paul. Thank you again for all you did yesterday. I have no way of turning off that stupid checkbox. I am going out in a little bit to get a windows install usb as I mentioned last night. Thought I would check in to see if you know of a specific one that would do the job, or what to look for? I want to avoid buying the entire Windows package install which I think run around $130 or so. I have searched on Best Buy and Walmart and they do sell sticks that say they can install or repair windows for much cheaper, but wanted to ask you before I get anything.

Good morning:
I don't believe that anything you buy is going to work, because it is still going to bring you to the same roadblock of needing the storage controller drivers.
Unless Windows doesn't like the bootable USB flash drive you made but definitely do not buy a new Windows license and product key because that is not necessary, since there is a Windows product key stored in your PC's BIOS and no product key is needed to reinstall W10/W11.

I'm thinking they can fix it.
Give them the instructions to use the HP cloud recovery client software to factory reset the drive to its 'out of the box' condition.
You could have done that yourself had you been able to use a Windows PC.
I would hope that they know recovery software exists for HP business class PC's, but it wouldn't hurt to ask if they are aware of it.

Paul, this just came up: I happen to have another Windows PC. My wife has it. However, this is a PC that was given to her by her last company before she retired last year. It still has the login credentials required that she no longer has. So, that said, how can I open that laptop and get into the recovery mode to reinstall everything and wipe the drive? Sorry to hit you with another project, if you will, but she just told me this and I told her I have been talking to an ace in this realm, so I had to ask. Would that be relatively easy?
