HP Pavilion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Today when I powered on my laptop, it got a blue screen, then restarted, then sent me to a recovery page. I select some of the options trying to get it to boot into safe mode, but then it restarts and starts back at the beginning and I have to try something else. I have looked online, and all of the answers I can find assume you can access the desktop, which I can’t. I have tried booting to a windows 7 install disk, but no luck. I have been trying to fix this for the whole day and still haven’t found a solution. My error code changes from 0xc0000001 to 0xc000000f (When I go into UEFI firmware settings and press F11 for system restore it changes to 0xc000000f)

Hi @Camiam5,

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your notebook boots to Blue screen error message.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

What is the product number?

When was the last time it was working fine?

Did you try performing a system recovery using HP Recovery Media?

Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or Error Code: 0xc0000001 sometimes occurs without any specific issue. You can’t be sure what actually caused it. Be it a system issue or some driver problem, you may end up seeing this screen when you restart your computer.

To solve this blue screen error in windows 10, turn off your computer  and when you power it up again, immediately press SHIFT + F8  key:

Click on “See advanced repair options” and from the next screen, choose “Troubleshoot”:

On the next screen, choose “Advanced Options”

In Advanced Options, choose “Windows Startup Settings”

There you will find a button “Restart”. Click on this button and allow the wizard to complete all the steps. Note that it will repair your computer without making any changes to it. Once the process is completed, your computer will automatically restart and you should be able to boot windows now.

If the issue persists:

After you have followed all the above-mentioned steps, however, the computer is not booting up your windows then, probably your cause of the error is more solid and cannot be restored with mere settings reset. But don’t worry, it can still be solved using windows recovery options. For this, you should have a recovery/installation disc or USB Flash Drive from the Official HP Website (if you haven't created any shortly after you purchased the computer).
