I have bought a new SSD Drive 250GB . Planning to install Windows 8.1 from recoverable DVD. Will it boot from recoverable DVD drive if I disconnect the HDD and try to boot from DVD drive or should I have to do something else.

Hi:

 

Install the new SSD.

 

After you install the SSD, you can boot from the DVD drive and install W8.1 on the SSD.

 

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
