Hello. I have an issue with my laptop not booting up. I believe its an issue with the intel optane nvme not being seen. I can view the nmve in bios, so tried install a fresh copy of windows 11. However I can't see the nvme. I tried to get the optane drivers, however it doesnt seem to work. I have a long DST fail. So in the end, I tried linux mint boot usb (un-rided optane nvme in bios) and that could see nvme and install onto this. Now it has an operating system on the drive. So decided to try the windows 11 usb boot drive, however still unable to see nvme. I really want windows 11 back on, however I have no idea how to do this. Im worried if I buy a new nvme m.2 that I'll encounter the same issue installing windows. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're very welcome.
The files I attached have no executable.
They are the raw files with just the drivers.

Hi:
A DST failure normally means that the drive has failed and needs to be replaced.
What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Hi Paul. Thank you for reply.
I have an HP Pavillon Laptop Model 14-dv1629na with Intel® Optane™ Memory H20 with Solid State Storage. 32GB Optane ™M/512GB NAND.
I'm just wondering why i can install Linux Mint OS, but not Windows 11? Does the long DST failure not affect Linux? I'm happy to get another m.2 drive if that's the case. Im just slightly thrown i can install one OS but not another. Which in my brain suggests the drive is fine and I'm missing something installing windows.

You're very welcome.
What the problem may be is that any PC with an Intel 11th>13th gen core processor needs to have the Intel storage controller drivers installed at the point where Windows cannot find any drives to install on.
I have zipped up and attached the Intel storage controllers used to do that, below.
Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.
Your other option would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool on another Windows PC to make a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall the HP factory image on the drive.
Here is an info link for how to use that software:
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support
Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will have to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.
Your PC's product number is 519L4EA#ABU

Hi Paul.
I tried the drivers solution afew days back, however I couldn't unzip on Linux. Or unzip using my sons chromebook, or find an app to unzip on my android phone. Well, you can sort of unzip, but as its a .exe file, it requires run to generate the drivers needed. I did try running it on a windows desktop computer, but it wouldn't work. Possible it requires run on the laptop to create the suitable drivers.
The only thing I haven't tried is making a bootable recovery drive using hp recovery tool. (I guess this is different from the drive with the bootable iso image)
I'll give this a try tonight or tomorrow and see how I go.
Thank you for the info and fingers crossed it'll work.

Paul = legend 😀
Extracted the drivers & placed on usb. initially it couldnt see the drivers, but i then navigated to F6 folder and could then see them. Voilà, I now have a fresh copy of windows installed 😀 happy man.
It was running the .exe intel optane file from intel that tripped me up as i was running linux OS. The Zip file that you gave with the right stuff in worked perfect.
Once again, thank you Paul.
