I have a plastic HP laptop with for some reason the power button and the trackpad being connected so when swapping HDDs the power button now won't make contact with the part of the cable that connects to the board, please help me

To clarify, it gets power, everything else works but when I did a HDD swap with MrBruhFortnite (or MrBruhFortnite1 that's their HP Community name) computer and since the power button on mine is on the same plastic part as the trackpad I don't think it's making contact, I tried with the keyboard on and off and I tried to line up the pins and for a second it lit the power LED but then it turned off but now it's reassembled and I don't think it's making contact, is there another way like to jump the pins or just any other way for me to power it on?
(I wanted to see if my friends HDD works or not since that's what we think is causing the issues on his computer, if you want check you can see the post by MrBruhFortnite/MrBruhFortnite1 to know what I'm talking about) and with either HDD my PC won't boot now and I think the power button's why. It's confusing I know but please help me if you can
