Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two HP computers:

  1.  all in one (i7, 12GB RAM)
  2. laptop (i7, 16GB RAM)

I tried everything but Windows 10 loading is slow, Desk is almost always 100% busy and right at the critical moment of your day to day work it will almost stop budging.

I no longer recommend hp to anyone!

Hi,

Have you run Hardware diagnostics at boot to see if there are any hardware problems. There could be a problem with the hard drive.

You should really replace the Hard Drive in the machines with an SSD which would give a great boost to the everyday performance of the PC. If you provide the model or product numbers we can take a look at how this is done.

Model number

Let me know,

David

OK.

1.

I would replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD such as the Samsung 860 Evo or similar of your desired capacity. It will give a great boost in everyday performance.

Example:

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Inch-Internal-MZ-76E1T0B-AM/dp/B078DPCY3T/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keyword...

You will also need:

https://www.amazon.com/Valuegist-Internal-Mounting-Bracket-Adapter/dp/B07GLSL6DF/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?dch...

In doc below you can see how to replace the drive

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05158393

You can then reinstall the OS by using media creation tool from Microsoft (before replacing drive) and creating a bootable USB drive with the OS on it. No product key needed.

or cloning the old drive to new one.

2. is not the model number but the product number of the wifi card in the notebook. Take another look.

Hope it helps,

David

  1. It's an all-in-one PC and some sort of closed design. Are you sure the parts you specified are compatible?
  2. 3168NGW is  the model number. See for example the link: https://itlandctg.com/product/hp-pavilion-3168ngw-15-core-i5-7th-gen/

This is your PC

and this is how to replace the drive

Replacing the hard drive with an SSD will give a great boost to everyday performance such as startup times.
