Hi @DaveOak48,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can be when a BIOS update keeps reappearing even after you’ve installed it successfully. Let’s resolve this together.

Step 1: Confirm BIOS Update Installed

  1. Press Windows + R, type:
  2. msinfo32

and press Enter.

  1. In System Information, check BIOS Version/Date
    • If it shows F.40, the update was applied correctly.

Step 2: Clear HP Support Assistant Cache

Sometimes, HP Support Assistant doesn’t refresh its update status:

  1. Open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Click Settings (gear icon).
  3. Under Health Analysis, select Clear Cache.
  4. Restart HP Support Assistant.

Step 3: Hide the Update

If the notification persists:

  1. In HP Support Assistant, go to Updates.
  2. Find the BIOS update.
  3. Click Ignore Update to stop future prompts.

Step 4: Reinstall HP Support Assistant

If clearing the cache doesn’t help:

Step 5: Manual BIOS Verification

If you want to ensure the update is applied:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi Vikram, thanks so much for you reply/help, I've checked the Bios version & it is BIOS Version/Date AMI F.33, 04/10/2023 so that proves the update has not loaded even though I've tried to load it several times. I would be very grateful if you could amend your reply to help me get the F40 version to load. Many thanks, David.
