@Dazzler77, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It looks like your laptop is encountering multiple issues, such as BitLocker prompting for a recovery key, an automatic repair failure, and a "Boot Device Not Found" error.

Here's what these messages might indicate and what you can do to try to fix it:

BitLocker Recovery Key:

BitLocker is a security feature that encrypts your hard drive. If your system is having trouble booting, it may ask for the recovery key. You can find the recovery key on your Microsoft account (if you saved it there) or from a backup you may have made when you first set up BitLocker.

Automatic Repair Couldn’t Repair Your PC:

This message indicates that Windows' automatic repair tool failed to fix the boot problem. You can try advanced options (such as System Restore, Startup Repair, or booting into Safe Mode) by clicking on "Advanced options."

Boot Device Not Found:

This error suggests that your laptop can't find a bootable operating system on your hard drive. This could be due to an issue with your hard drive, like corruption or failure.

To check the hard drive, you can run diagnostics by pressing F2 (as suggested on the screen) to check the health of the drive.

Reinstall Windows: If nothing works, reinstalling Windows might be necessary.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi,

This is not a resolution to my issue.  I have had the laptop for no more than 18 months and it is not functioning as I would expect.

I understand there is a 12 month warranty but I would expect a product like this to last significantly longer without issues appearing.  Under the consumer law act consumers can expect acceptable use of 6 years from electrical products.

Please could there be something done by way of recompense, repair or replacement.
