HP Envy x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-fa-0000 (8Z8P5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

In November, I bought a laptop (HP Envy x360 2-in-1 Laptop 14-fa0610nd). It worked perfectly fine back then. Recently i gave the laptop to a friend as a present. Now it turns out the laptop no longer boots (the on/off button doesn't work). It also won't charge. The laptop is still under warranty. How can I register the laptop for warranty?

Hi @Cust2025,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It’s great that your HP Envy x360 14-fa0610nd is still under warranty, and I understand how important it is to get it registered and repaired quickly, especially since it’s not powering on or charging.

Here are some quick steps you can try before service:

  1. Check Charger and Outlet
  • Ensure the charger is securely connected.
  • Try a different wall outlet.
  • If possible, test with another compatible HP charger.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the charger and peripherals.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger and try powering on.

3. Look for LED Indicators

  • Check for any charging light near the power port or keyboard.
  • If no lights appear, it may be a battery, charger, or motherboard issue.

4. Battery Reset (if supported)

  • Look for a battery reset pinhole on the bottom of the laptop.

Use a paperclip to press and hold it for 5–10 seconds, then try powering on again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
