Hi @Mikky018,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing that detail. If your HP laptop isn’t powering on and you're seeing blinking lights on the Caps Lock key and Power button, that’s a diagnostic signal from the system. HP laptops use these blinking patterns to indicate specific hardware issues.

Step 1: Count the Blinks

  • Caps Lock blinking in a repeating pattern (e.g., 3 blinks, pause, 3 blinks) is a blink code.
  • Count how many times it blinks before it pauses and repeats.
  • Each pattern corresponds to a specific hardware issue (e.g., memory, CPU, BIOS, etc.).

If you can tell me the exact number of blinks, I can look up the specific error for you.

Step 2: Perform a Hard Reset

This can sometimes bring the system back to life.

  1. Turn off the laptop completely.
  2. Unplug the power adapter.
  3. If the battery is removable, take it out.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the battery and power adapter.
  6. Try turning it on again.

Step 3: Try a BIOS Recovery

If the blink code points to a BIOS issue, you can try this:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Windows + B (or Windows + V on some models), then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  3. Release the Power button but keep holding Windows + B/V until you hear beeps or see the screen light up.

Step 4: External Monitor Test

If you suspect a display issue:

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV via HDMI.
  • Power it on and check if anything displays externally.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
