Envy G3R12UA#ABA

Not sure what key i pushed, but all of a sudden the screen said "locking" and shut down.  Now I can't get it to restarr.

@Mo52 Alright, could have been a short cut key that put it into hibernation or shut it down, no need to worry though, I got you, let's perform a power reset as per HP standards:

  • Ensure your laptop is OFF.
  • Unplug all the external devices (If any).
  • Disconnect the power charger from the computer, and remove the battery.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
  • Connect the power supply (power adapter).
  • Press the power button to turn on your laptop.
  • Then put your battery back.

And if it doesn't turn back on, after the above steps are carefully followed, I suggest you check with an alternate adapter (borrowed from a friend or the local store) and also, check with another wall outlet.
