Quick update,

I have removed the SSD and tried to boot to the USB with the BIOS update. I still get the same error message from windows boot manager.

What is this mess? I have never seen anything like it before.

So it's not clear what the solution is but it is clear to me this motherboard is rubbish. Hopefully replacing it will solve the issues i'm facing.
