Hi  @Pienotav

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern about your laptop refuses to power on even though the components you’ve checked seem fine.

Could you kindly confirm the below  details :

1. What is the exact HP laptop model number?

2. How did you test each component?

  • RAM: Did you reseat the memory modules, test one module at a time, or run a memory diagnostic?
  • SSD: Did you test it in another computer or run a storage diagnostic?
  • CPU: What test or diagnostic was used to confirm the processor is functioning properly?

3. What exactly happens when you press the power button?

  • Does the screen remain completely black?
  • Do you see the HP logo at any point?
  • Does the keyboard backlight turn on?
  • Do the cooling fans spin?
  • Do you hear any beeps, clicking sounds, or unusual noises?

4. LED behaviour You mentioned the power LED stays white for about 5 seconds, turns off for about 2 seconds, and then repeats.

  • Does this cycle continue indefinitely?
  • Is the LED blinking or completely turning off?
  • Are there any other LEDs flashing (Caps Lock, Num Lock, charging LED, etc.)?

5. Have you already tried these tests?

  • Starting the laptop with only the charger connected (battery disconnected if removable).
  • Holding the power button for 30-60 seconds with all power sources disconnected.
  • Testing with a different compatible HP charger if available.

Also kindly  watch the Caps Lock and Num Lock LEDs when attempting to power on.   The systems often use these  LEDs to display hardware error codes.

For example:

  • 2 blinks may indicate a BIOS-related issue.
  • 3 blinks may indicate a memory-related issue.
  • Other blink patterns can point to motherboard, CPU, or graphics issues.

Once you provide the laptop model and the results of the above checks, we'll be able to determine whether this is related to the BIOS,  motherboard, or any other hardware component .

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
