My laptop is completely not working at all. No light when plugged in and turned on, no noice coming from the laptop, totally nothing? Is there anyway we can see where the real problem lies, whether the battery or the power cord (though I don't see any damaged outside) or the system component inside?

I don't think the battery is the only problem because I can use the wall outlet to get power. I don't know if the power cord has a problem since I don't see any external damage on it. If it is the system component, what could be damaging it?
Well, battery, power adapter, power unit in the PC, motherboard... These should be tested one by one or by a PC technician. You don't have all these to test on your own, that's why I recommend you bring the PC to a professioanl service.

Thanks a lot for your quick response for my cry for help. Sorry to say that nothing out of all the links you've provided help. My laptop has long been out of warranty. I've kept this laptop for a long time and just thought of checking on it again just now. When I plug it in, there was this short period of "ON" time, but it just went off when by accident, the cord was pulled off and it went off again. When I tried to plug it back, the LED light never turn back on again. When it was on for a short while, it says the battery has to be replaced. I don't think the battery is the only problem because I can use the wall outlet to get power. I don't know if the power cord has a problem since I don't see any external damage on it. If it is the system component, what could be damaging it?
