Hi @Kalysa

test the disk, when you turn on the device press the F2 key several times, select the disk for testing and see if it passes or has a failure ID.

- if I can help solve your question or issue, please click on ACCEPT AS SOLUTION or click the YES button if my answer was helpful.

Pressing f2 several times doesnt do anything here

It is when you turn on the laptop, it enters diagnostics, not where you put that image

HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures | HP® Support

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu is displayed, press the f2 key.

  3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests, and then click Extensive Test.

  4. Click either Run once or Loop until error.

While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component displays on the screen.

  5. If a component fails a test, scan the QR Code or write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you contact HP Customer Support. The information is also available in Test Logs on the main menu.

i have done some command prompts from watching videos trying to fix it the past few days so idk if thats causing more issues or not. But it wont even do a diagnostic

I don't know why you can't make a diagnosis but everything indicates that your disk is damaged.

Now it keeps turning off on its own every few minutes. Do i get a new disk? Or is there other ways for me to repair this on my own? Or without spending a bunch of money

HP Recommended

without doing a test I cannot be sure of your problem, I recommend you first try to reinstall windows from a USB stick.
