HP Laptop 14-bs0xx

Model: 14-bs006nx

Edition: Windows 10 Home

System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Hello, my laptop shuts down itself with a battery percentage of about 40%-50%.
I tried updating my BIOS, buying and trying a new battery, changing battery power options, doing nothing (if the cause was overheating), but still shuts down.
I am guessing that there is an error in reading battery percentage. So, is there anything I can do?

Notice me please!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the laptop shuts down when the battery percentage reaches 40-50%.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

  • What is the product number of your computer?
  • What is the version of BIOS installed on the computer?
  • How did you update the BIOS?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.

Here is how you do it.

Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”

Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”

Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.

Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”

Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hello, I appreciate your help, and I tried your method but still not working.

And just now, I noticed that the battery which is drained has charged up so fast. 100% from 0% for just about 50 minutes or less which is very unusual from before.

Thank you for the update.

I recommend you install the chipset firmware from the below link and check if it helps.

Hello.
It says that the "firmware version is same or newer..."

@Dsdc I'm writing on behalf of @The_Fossette as he's away for the day,

And I suggest you perform a calibration of the battery followed by a test to identify the issue: Click here for details

Keep me posted with the results,

Good luck!
