Hi @LarryJayy516,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
A black screen and non-functioning keyboard on your OMEN Laptop - 15-en0013dx can be caused by a variety of issues, ranging from hardware malfunctions to software problems. Here are several troubleshooting steps to help diagnose and potentially fix the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off your laptop.
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
- Unplug the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter and try to turn on your laptop.
2. Check the Display
- External Monitor: Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using HDMI or DisplayPort. This will help determine if the issue is with the laptop's screen or the entire system.
- If the external display works, it might indicate a problem with the laptop's internal display or its connection.
3. Inspect the Keyboard
- External Keyboard: Connect an external USB keyboard to see if it functions. This can help determine if the issue is with the built-in keyboard.
- If the external keyboard works, it might indicate a problem with the laptop's internal keyboard or its connection.
4. Boot into Safe Mode
- Turn off your laptop.
- Turn it on and immediately press F8 repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears.
- Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
- If your laptop boots into Safe Mode, there might be a software or driver issue.
5. Update or Roll Back Drivers
- If you can access Safe Mode, try updating or rolling back your graphics and keyboard drivers.
- Go to Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters and Keyboards.
- Right-click on your devices and choose Update driver or Roll back driver.
Kindly check the next steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @LarryJayy516,
Please find the next steps below.
6. Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates
- Turn off your laptop.
- Press the power button and immediately press F10 repeatedly until the BIOS/UEFI menu appears.
- Check if there are any available BIOS/UEFI updates and apply them if necessary.
7. Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings
- Enter the BIOS/UEFI menu by pressing F10 during startup.
- Look for an option to reset to default settings.
- Save changes and exit.
8. Reseat RAM and Storage
- If you feel comfortable doing so, you can try reseating the RAM and storage drives. This involves opening the laptop and removing, then reinserting the RAM and storage drives to ensure proper connection.
- Caution: This step involves handling internal components. Ensure the laptop is powered off and disconnected from any power source. If you're unsure, seek professional assistance.
9. Check for Overheating
- Overheating can cause hardware malfunctions. Ensure the laptop is not overheating and that the vents are clear of dust and debris.
- You can use compressed air to clean the vents.
10. System Restore or Reset
- If you can boot into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment, try performing a system restore to revert the system to a previous state where it was functioning correctly.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Open System Restore.
- As a last resort, you can perform a system reset to reinstall Windows. This will remove all files and settings, so back up important data if possible.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be a hardware problem that requires repair. Contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Thank you for your help …. Crazy to say but my screen turned back on and my laptop is now working fully , I was told my motherboard maybe the issue but my guess was that my laptop just needed a break … I had my computer completely shut down for close to a week and it just miraculously started working again
