I just started using my laptop after a few days and when I first tried to start it, it only started for a few seconds then shut off, I removed the main battery, put it back in, and it started fine, I just came back to it after about an hour and it was completely off, and unlplugged, it didn't die because it had a full battery when I left, I tried to turn it on and it did the same thing as it did the first time, only now it refused to work no matter what I do, I'm not what so ever educated in laptop parts so I honestly have no idea what to do about this, and I really don't want to replace my laptop seeing as I'm not in the best of money situations. Please help!

@Artimise,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the laptop is not shutting off in few seconds.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

While you respond to that, I recommend you boot to BIOS by tapping the F10 while starting the computer and check whether the computer is shutting off in BIOS as well.

If the computer is shutting off in BIOS as well then it is a hardware issue.

If the computer is not shutting off is BIOS then I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
