HP ProBook 650 G1

Sooo, i had a lightning strike into my house and the laptop was plugged in.

I saw the laptop had visible damage on the motherboard. I ordered one from ebay.

I assambled the laptop with the new board and i noticed the " Card Reader Ethernet USB Board" is burnt too. But without any visible damage. Btw it wont doing anything if it is plugged in.

If i remove the ethernet/usb board the laptop then starting the laptop, the startup button, volume button and the internet button glows up.

Downside the power led and the wifi led is glowing.

Nothing else happens, after around 10 secs, the cpu fan goes to maximum speed and the caps and the num lock blinking 3 times in a row.

I dont have a battery in the laptop.

So what i tried:

  • Using a different power adapter
  • Disassambled the laptop and running it with minimum parts
  • Running the laptop without RAM and CPU and SSD it is doing the same thing.
  • Tried different RAM's
  • Without Wifi card
