@Fredtech, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP 15-bs Series Laptop Not Turning On!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When your HP 15-bs series laptop won't power up despite the charging light being on, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Performing a Hard Reset
A hard or forced reset can sometimes resolve non-power issues by resetting the system's connections:
- Turn off the computer completely by pressing and holding the power button.
- Disconnect all peripheral devices connected to the laptop.
- Remove the AC adapter and, if possible, remove the battery.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge any residual electrical charge.
- Reconnect the battery and AC adapter, but do not connect any other devices.
- Try powering on the laptop.
Additional Steps if Still Unresponsive:
- Check the AC adapter and charging port for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure the port is free of debris and the connections are secure.
- Perform a visual inspection for any physical damage on the laptop case or display.
- Test a different AC adapter compatible with the HP 15-bs series, if available.
- Enter Recovery Mode:
- Power off the laptop.
- Press Escape (Esc) repeatedly as you power on the laptop to enter the Startup Menu.
- Select System Diagnostics to run hardware tests.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
