Hi @Sonu99,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  1. What is the exact HP laptop model (for example: Pavilion, ProBook, Envy, Omen, etc.)?
  2. When you press the power button, do you see or hear anything at all (fan noise, keyboard lights, screen flicker)?
  3. Is the charging LED solid or blinking, and what color is it (white/orange)?
  4. Did this start suddenly, or after something like a Windows update, power outage, drop, or spill?

Things you can try right now

1. Perform a hard reset (most important step)
This clears leftover electrical charge and fixes many HP power issues.

  • Turn the laptop off.
  • Unplug the charger.
  • Hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger (leave the battery out if removable).
  • Try turning it on.

2. Try powering on with charger only

  • Disconnect everything (USB devices, mouse, external display).
  • Plug in only the charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.

3. Check if it’s a display issue
Sometimes the laptop is actually on, but the screen stays black.

  • Press Caps Lock or Num Lock and see if the light turns on/off.
  • Try connecting the laptop to an external monitor or TV.

4. Look for LED blink codes

  • If the charging or power LED blinks in a pattern (for example, short and long blinks), note it down—HP uses these codes to indicate hardware problems.

5. Try a different power source (if possible)

  • Use a different wall outlet.
  • If you have access to another compatible HP charger, try that too.

I hope this helps.
