Hi:
There are hundreds of g56 model variations, and the service manuals may be different.
Please provide the full model number or product number of your g56 notebook.
The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.
Normally, on most notebooks, you usually have to completely disassemble the notebook to get to the RTC (CMOS) battery.

That is not the product number or model number of your notebook.
See this guide for how to find that info...

Hi:
The product number you posted also doesn't provide any results in the HP support site or part surfer.
Here is the only G56 service manual I could find.

As I figured, you are going to have to take the whole notebook apart to get to where the battery is located.
See chapter 4 starting on page 69 for how to remove and replace the RTC (CMOS) battery.

Thank you Paul for the info.
I was able to take apart my laptop thinking that my problem was my cmos battery but no luck had it checked and it is still
in good condition.
So I am still stuck with the laptop that won’t boot.Onlythe power light along with the ones on the cap lock,f12 with the side one next to the power cable(ac).
When I power it on I also get two light fan surge and then ‘nothing’..
Any ideas?
