I had just turned on my laptop and received a “lock-in” message and it shut down. I removed the battery and held the power button down for 30 seconds. Put it back together and it still won’t turn on. (I’m a 79-yr-old great grandma so I’m proud of my attempt, even though futile)

@huntress22, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
That’s impressive troubleshooting! 💪😊 Don't worry, let's try a few more steps to bring your HP Laptop back to life.
When you press the power button, do any lights turn on (keyboard, charging port, caps lock, etc.)? If not, the laptop may not be receiving power.
Remove the battery again and plug the laptop directly into the charger, then try turning it on. If there’s still no response, try a different power outlet or charger if available.
Perform power drain again:
Remove the battery and unplug the charger.
Hold the power button for 60 seconds this time.
Reconnect the charger without the battery and try turning it on.
If you notice any beeps or flashing patterns, let me know, as these indicate specific issues.
