@Mike2515, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Locked Keyboard and Login Problems!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you are encountering problems with a locked keyboard and are unable to login with your password on an HP Laptop, there are several steps and considerations to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Keyboard Lock Settings

Ensure that your keyboard is not locked or disabled. Check the settings in your system's control panel or settings menu to verify that the keyboard is enabled.

2. Use External Keyboard

Connect an external USB or wireless keyboard to your laptop and attempt to login. This can help identify if the issue is with the laptop's built-in keyboard.

3. Restart the Laptop

Perform a complete restart of your laptop. This can sometimes resolve software or configuration issues that might be preventing the keyboard from functioning correctly.

4. Check for Keyboard Driver Updates

Ensure that your keyboard drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager:

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Locate and expand the Keyboards section.
  • Right-click on your keyboard device and select Update Driver.

5. Safe Mode Boot

Try booting the laptop in Safe Mode to determine if the issue is related to installed software or drivers.

  • Restart your laptop and press F8 during startup until the Advanced Boot Options screen appears.
  • Select Safe Mode and try logging in.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
