I have always used my fingerprint to login since a year and I have forgotten my password and pin. I am unable to login through my fingerprint now and it is asking for pin. I don't get forgot password and then Microsoft login alternative, it rather asks to connect usb flash drive

Hi @Helpavi
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
I understand that Windows is no longer accepting fingerprint sign-in and is requesting a PIN or password authentication method. Since the PIN and password are not available, please attempt to reset the Microsoft account password online and use it to sign in. If the system only offers a USB flash drive option, it is likely requesting a previously created password reset disk; if one was not created, account recovery through the Microsoft account sign-in process will be required.
Unable to Sign In Using Windows Hello Fingerprint
If the fingerprint reader is detected but fingerprint sign-in does not work:
- In Windows, search for and open Sign-in options.
- Under Windows Hello Fingerprint, select Set up.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to register the fingerprint.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open the Windows security screen.
- Verify that the fingerprint sign-in option is available.
- Try signing in using the fingerprint reader.
If the fingerprint sign-in option is still unavailable:
- Search for and open Check for updates.
- Install any available Windows updates.
- Restart the computer.
- Return to Sign-in options and configure Windows Hello Fingerprint again.
