OMEN by HP 15-dc1050nl
Microsoft Windows 11

Hallo everyone,

After update the BIOS in my OMEN Notebook to version F.29 Rev.A, i lost the possibility to access OMEN Setup Utility from the  boot menu where normally i did.

After power on and pushing esc botton, the menu show's me only (AMI) Bios (Blu screen with white character) and not the OMEN Setup Utilty (Black screen with red characters).

Is there any way to recover it or to reinstall it? Or is it accessible anymore?

Thanks to all and best regards.

Hi @Homeraccio

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems that after updating the BIOS to version F.29 Rev.A on your OMEN by HP 15-dc1050nl, the OMEN Setup Utility is no longer accessible from the boot menu.

This could be due to changes in the BIOS structure or compatibility.

Here are some steps you can try to recover or reinstall the OMEN Setup Utility:

Rollback BIOS to Previous Version:

  • If the OMEN Setup Utility was accessible before the update, you can attempt to roll back to the previous BIOS version:
    • Turn off your laptop completely.
    • Press and hold the Win + B keys while also holding down the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
    • Release the Power button but keep holding the Win + B keys until you hear beeps or see the HP BIOS Recovery screen.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to select BIOS recovery and restore the previous version.

Check for BIOS Settings:

  • Access the current BIOS (AMI BIOS) by pressing Esc or F10 during startup.
  • Look for any settings related to the OMEN Setup Utility or advanced features that might need to be enabled.

Reinstall OMEN Software:

  • Visit the HP Support page for your laptop model and download any available software or drivers related to the OMEN Setup Utility.
  • If the utility is part of the software package, reinstalling it might restore access.
