@Morran, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Hard Disk 3F0 Boot Device Not Found Error!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The 3F0 error occurs when the system is unable to find a bootable operating system on the hard disk. Here's how you can troubleshoot and attempt to resolve this issue:

Run the Hard Disk Test:

  • Reboot the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly. Once the menu is displayed, press F2 to open the System Diagnostics.
  • Select Component Tests, then choose Storage > Quick Test to test the hard drive.
  • If the Quick Test does not identify a problem, perform the Extensive Test. This may take several hours and can be set to loop until an error is detected.

Update the BIOS:

  • Ensure that the BIOS is updated. Follow instructions in the respective HP support documents for updating BIOS on desktop or notebook PCs.

Restore BIOS Defaults:

  • Enter the BIOS Setup by pressing F10 during startup.
  • Press F9 to load BIOS defaults, then F10 to save settings and exit.
  • Restart the computer.

Reinstall Windows:

  • Use the Windows Recovery Environment (press F11 during startup) or HP Cloud Recovery Tool to reinstall Windows on the hard drive.
  • Refer to HP's support documents for detailed instructions on performing a system reset or using the recovery tool.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
