Hi there! I am a newbie with Setting up my Pavilion 15 laptop to boot to a new and I formatted m.2 NVME drive. I have read what seems to me to be conflicting information about using the legacy drivers section of the bios, using uefi, what order to do things in etc. and wondering if HP has any specific step by step instructions about making it so the ssd can be booted from. I was thinking of using either an Evo 960 or Sabrent Rocket 512 GB drive. Thanks so much!

Just wanted to let you know I was able to install a Samsung Evo Plus m.2 NVME on my pavilion 15-cc123cl, install Windows 10 Home on it and use it as the boot drive. It now boots up in roughly 10 seconds. YAY! This would seem to confirm what the service manual said that Pavilion 15-cc1xx and Pavilion 15-cc6xx come with the ability to install an NVME drive and be used as the boot drive. Thanks again for taking the time to respond to my question and take care.

Machine would not boot with M.2 NVMe drive. Please try M.2 SATA drive.

Just curious because I was looking at the service manual and it says you can use M.2 NVME ssd’s on models cc1xx and cc6xx. Because my model is a cc123, I’m thinking I could use an NVME ssd. Are you saying even though the service manual says I can use an NVME ssd, that only a sata ssd could be used as a boot drive? Just looking for clarification. Thanks!
