@ETHEM51,Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding BIOS update!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Right now your HP Pavilion 14-dv1629sa is stuck in a failed BIOS update (flash block), leaving you with a black screen and no boot. This usually means the BIOS flash was interrupted or corrupted.

Here’s what you can try step-by-step:

1. Hard Reset (Power Drain)

Disconnect everything (USB, charger, peripherals).

Hold down the power button for 15–20 seconds to drain residual power.

Reconnect only the charger (not the battery if it’s removable — but most modern Pavilion laptops have non-removable batteries).

Try powering it on.

2. BIOS Recovery from Key Combo (Win + B / Win + V)

HP laptops have a built-in BIOS recovery feature:

Insert your USB recovery stick (created with HP BIOS update tool).

Hold Win + B (or sometimes Win + V).

While holding, press and hold Power for 2–3 seconds, then release Power but keep holding Win + B/V for ~40 seconds.

You should hear beeps or see the screen light up if recovery starts.

⚠️ If nothing happens, try both Win + B and Win + V combinations.

3. Recreate the USB BIOS Recovery Drive

Since the flash failed, the recovery image might not be good.

On another working PC, download the HP BIOS Update utility again (SP158907.exe).

Run it, choose “Create Recovery USB”.

Plug that into your Pavilion, then retry Step 2.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
