Yesterday my old HP Pavilion Notebook was working perfectly.  Toward the end of the session I tried to upload a photo i sent to myself via email so I could save it for a document I was making.  The screen that came up (HP media I presume) was black with a dot spinning on it like it was downloading, but after several minutes  the screen was still black with just the spinning dot showing on it.  I finished what I was doing in Word and clicked out of the screens that were still open, EXCEPT that the black screen with the spinning dot was still up and would not click off.  I could not access the normal shutdown screen because of this black screen.  So I used the off button to shut the computer down.  Today when I turned the computer on, it seems to have booted up, but has a black screen that will not even interact with the mouse.
