Hi @Ldubau,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Perform a Hard Reset:

Performing a hard reset can fix many hardware and software issues.

  • Step 1: Turn off the computer.
  • Step 2: Disconnect all external connected devices (e.g., USB drives, printers) and remove the AC adapter.
  • Step 3: Hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
  • Step 4: Reconnect the AC adapter (but do not connect any devices yet), then turn on the computer.

2. Check for Display Issues:

  • Step 1: Connect an external monitor to determine if the issue is with the screen or the computer.
    • Step 1.1: Connect an external monitor using an HDMI cable.
    • Step 1.2: Press Windows Key + P to switch the display mode, and select “Extend” or “Duplicate.”
  • Step 2: If the external monitor works, it may be a screen or LCD cable issue.
  • Step 3: If the external monitor does not show anything, it could be more significant hardware or software issues.

3. Reset BIOS:

  • Step 1: Turn off the computer and connect the AC adapter.
  • Step 2: Press and hold the Windows + B keys together while pressing the Power button for 2-3 seconds, then release the Power button but continue holding the Windows + B keys until you hear beeping or see something on the screen.
  • Step 3: The BIOS will try to recover; follow the on-screen instructions.

4. Check for Loose Connections:

Sometimes, internal display cables might slightly disconnect.

  • Warning: This may involve opening the laptop casing. If you are not comfortable, seek assistance from HP support.
  • Step 1: Carefully remove the back panel.
  • Step 2: Check the connections to ensure everything is securely connected.

5. Perform a System Restore (If Possible):

If you can get the screen to display temporarily.

  • Step 1: Boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 during startup.
  • Step 2: Perform a system restore to roll back recent updates or installations that might have caused the issue.

I hope this helps.
