Hi @Jess30705,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop's hardware diagnostics UEFI shows "No hard drive found," it could be due to several issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take.

Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your laptop and press the key to enter BIOS (usually F10, ESC, or F2 depending on the model).
  • In BIOS, ensure that the hard drive is listed under storage devices.
  • If not, check if the SATA Mode is set correctly (AHCI or RAID). You might want to switch between these modes and save changes.

Reseat the Hard Drive

  • If you're comfortable opening your laptop, try reseating the hard drive. This means disconnecting and reconnecting the hard drive to ensure a good connection.
  • Ensure the drive is properly seated in its slot and all connections are secure.

Check for Physical Damage

  • If the hard drive has been subjected to impact, it may have been physically damaged. In this case, it may need to be replaced.

Boot from External Media

  • If possible, try booting your laptop using an external USB drive with Windows or Linux to verify if the system recognizes external storage. This helps determine if it's an issue with the hard drive or the motherboard.

Run Diagnostics Again

  • Sometimes, running the diagnostic tool again after adjusting settings or reseating the hard drive might help.

Test with Another Drive

  • If you have access to another compatible hard drive or SSD, try installing it in the laptop to see if the system recognizes the new drive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
